BOOK REVIEW by K. Mercy Thompson is a mechanic and a “skinwalker” who can turn into a coyote. A handsome werewolf lives next door; he’s a Vietnam veteran, Special Ops (of course), but not in his late 50s by now because werewolves age slowly. Anyway, he gets attacked by another werewolf pack and his daughter is kidnapped. Mercy jumps in to help him. We meet more werewolves, some vampires, and a stoic Germanic gremlin who works metal. Mercy is supposed to be the usual hip young thing (see Vampire-Hunter Fantasy) but somehow she seems in her mid-forties! Interesting setting in the Seattle-Tacoma area
